Mound of Medvegalis

Medvegalis - Samogitia (Lithuania)

As I have told you, Aiste is Samogitian,
so she really wanted to show me a place, which is a pride of all Samogitians:
a mound named Medvegalis.
In Samogitia, as in the rest of Lithuania, in the absence of mountains,
almost all hills were used for defence.
One of the most important ones was Medvegalis.
Some were raised even higher and served as a "telegraph".
Fires were lit on these hills to warn of an approaching enemy.
