This set was shot in the Black Box Theater of The New School in Fairfax, Virginia. The dancers are Rui and DiDi with whom I have worked before (with DiDi on several occasions), and Edward, Rui's boyfriend. The title mentions "the last time" because the three of them are moving to other companies...Edward and Rui to Toronto and DiDi to Boston. No doubt I will work with DiDi in Boston because my son is in grad school at BC for five years. I'm hoping Rui and Edward will persuade me to make a trip to Toronto.
In any event, this was a three hour shoot and I was really pleased to have Travis Cooper with me to document the shoot. From start to finish we had classical ballet music playing, Le Corsaire, Coppelia and Les Sylphides...the atmosphere was great. Thanks to Virginia P-F for setting up the lighting.
