Lansallos Church: Tab and Mark's Wedding

logo

Back to our roots. Sacha Tristan and I took a five day break to travel from Washington to Cornwall to attend and photograph the wedding of their cousin, Tabby. She wanted it simple, no set pieces or poses....everyone photographed casually and informally. As well as assisting me with the photography, Sacha and Tris were to be ushers at the ceremony.
Day one we explored the farm (Lesquite), the church where the wedding would take place and the cove with the same name (Lansallos), overlooked by the church -Lansallos- The reception would be in a large marquee on the farm. The start of the gallery describes our first sights, our look at the church and the cove below. The rehearsal took place later that day at the time the wedding would occur 48 hours later, so I got a feel for the light (not easy). Friday was for a bit of exploration and an evening barbecue. The wedding took place at 3:30 pm so there was plenty of down time before.

The gallery rendition of the wedding itself falls into 4 parts. First the arrival of the guests, along with them getting seated and watching the bellringers (a lighting nightmare). The vicar prepped the ushers and the congregation. Second comes the arrival of the bride with her father, the service and the the signing of the register with witnesses followed by the departure of the happy couple through the church (what an awesome place!). Third was the initial reception on the grounds of the church overlooking the ocean. Fourth was reception number 2 at Lesquite in and around a marquee, set alongside the private road leading to the farm. Duly noted is the fact that Sacha, Tristan and I appear in a few shots......this was family after all and we had travelled 4,000 miles to first photograph and second to have fun!
