The background is magnificent. The foreground an obscenity.

Must be nice to have an observatory at one's home? Nice combination of man-made and natural. It's a shame this monstrosity is in the way.

Fred,
We're dealing with much the same issue in West Virginia along the New River Gorge. Developers have been able to buy private land along the Canyon Rim that the National Park Service should have put more effort into acquiring decades ago. Add in members of a county commission (one of whom was a loan officer for a bank underwriting home loans on the Rim property) naively/blindly thinking housing developments much like this one foster economic development, and we all sadly see the result.

That your home away from home? :))
Leave it to man to mess up a perfectly good view.

I thought the same thing!...It's a beautiful home, but it seems a shame. You must be in Arizona now, Fred...enjoy the sunshine :)

The residents of this house will have a great view, but they spoiled the view for tourists. Aren't there anu rules where new buildings are permitted?
