Ian - If there is time in your trip and you are in the Phoenix area, the Apache Trail is some kind of drive 40 miles and takes several hours to drive thru one way.. Not alot of color unless you can find some flowers, but the terrain is gut grabbing. Trail is east of Phoenix.
