Not off to a good start ..........

Sedona, AZ

Just bought a Nikon d800 body. In a hurry to use (did not read the "1,000
page" manual), and borrowed an old fixed series e Nikon 28mm lens used
originally on an old film camera, and shot in programmed mode. Did not
realize the manual f stop was set at 5.6. Also did not do a good job on
the manual focus in the foreground. Lots of room for improvement in future.
Can't wait for the new lens to arrive.

Still a pleasant image! Using the newer Nikon lenses will really improve the results tremendously. That sensor requires some really top notch glass for the best results. Looking forward to seeing more.

Congratulations on the new camera, Fred. Quite a step up from the Canon Rebels you've used for years.

Fred, it is still an interesting shot. I do not mind the softness on the foreground and left side that much. I have the 28-300mm VR full frame lens. I really love it this lens along with the D800 it gives me some great shots. Will be waiting to see, what you do with your new lens. V.
