Electrical Connections Ipod interface kit for the GL1800
New Ipod cable supports charging of newer model Ipods using USB (5 volt) power
Dip Switch Settings
Connector sockets
Interface cable
The white connector is the CD changer cable that the interface plugs into
Interface cable connected to bike
Pass through connector is for the optional CD changer if you have one
I wrapped the pass through connector with electrical tape to keep dirt and moisture out
Drilling a hole in glove box for cable
Cable is inserted through hole
The instructions tell you to put it in the trunk but I decided to mount the interface box under the seat
I made a small triangular support to hold my Ipod Nano off the bottom of the glove box so it wouldn't get too hot
Interface mounted under seat and wires brought forward to glove box
Here is what the display shows
Display and Ipod mounted
I put a gromment in the hole and the support holds the Ipod up so I can still use the glove box and put stuff under it.
