08 March 2004 - Balancing Act

  • POTD at Shutterline.com for 11 March 2004
  • POTD (Still Life) at DigitalImageCafe.com for 13 March 2004

  • I initially tried to move the camera so that the dummy and the shadow didn't touch, but then I started thinking maybe he's holding on to his shadow to support him in his balancing act on my wobbly table :)

Post-processing involved cropping, toning, clarification (which enhances the contrast and creates the slightly darker area around the dummy and the lighter area around the shadow), increase contrast, resize, USM, and then adding the border and signature.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Excellent shot!! It also looks like two friends who are holding hands, in sheer joy at skipping and jumping :)

Lovely tonality and exposure. Great. I like the way the shadow's angled to show a different perspective.

    Regards,

    Geoff.

LOL, good camera angle and lighting on this one. I particularly like that you can't see one of the legs on the model, but the cue for it is given to us by way of the shadow.
