For the first time in five years I am not able to post a "picture-a-day."
The reason is that today I must post two "picture-a-day."
Max and Lara, both high-school students, were assigned to help me canvass on election day for Organizing for America. Max and I began at 8:00 AM and Lara joined us when she got out of school.
We knocked on doors all day to get out the vote. Max would actually run from house to house. Our last two streets were done in the dark by flashlight. I can't begin to describe the dedication and resolve of these two students.
When we finished I made them make me a promise: They are to one day tell their grandkids about the night they campaigned for President Obama in the dark with flashlights.
Of course the grandkids are going to ask, "What was a flashlight?"
