Don't tug on Superman's cape . . .

Retired school teacher stops by a drive-thru petition center today to protest Ohio Senate Bill 5.

Workers, activists and other volunteers are making quick progress in collecting 231,000 signatures needed to put the repeal of Senate Bill 5 on the Ohio ballot this November. Gov. John Kasich (R) signed Senate Bill 5 into law in March. It restricts collective bargaining rights for more than 360,000 teachers, police, firefighters and other public employees.
“We Are Ohio”, a repeal-oriented group, has until June 30 to collect and submit the signatures. More than 10,000 volunteers have stepped forward to circulate petitions. Thousands more are signing petitions. This unprecedented grass roots movement has more volunteers gathering signatures than any petition drive in Ohio history.

I try to keep an unbiased lens but I'm with the school teachers on this one.
I signed the petition today in memory of Mildred Webb . . . my sixth-grade school teacher who influenced my life beyond measure along with countless others.

"You don't tug on Superman's cape. You don't spit into the wind. You don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger. And you don't mess around with (school teachers)"

LATER: Senate Bill 5 is so unpopular that 1.3 million residents signed the petition.
