Petra is in a valley to the East of Wadi Araba about 80 kilometers south of the Dead Sea.
The city, surrounded by sandstone mountains, was the principal city of ancient Nabataea.

Very interesting. I have seen a lot of pictures from Petra and an exhibition but you have a lot of well caught details here that show yet another angle. The sandstone details are truly beautiful. thanks for sharing

Really a fantastic gallery. Never been, but this gives me a real sense of place. I especially love the "top" images that concentrate of the beauty of the red sandstone, never seen anything like these from Petra. Congratulations!

One of the best Petra galleries on Pbase I've seen. I like how you concentrated on colors in your shots. They really turned out great. Petra is one of the places that I wanted to go for many years and I'm envious :-) Get my vote.
