South Africa Stellenbosch Village Museum

The colony of Stellenbosch was founded by Governor Simon van der Stel in 1679. Der Stel was the first Governor of the Cape Colony, the Dutch settlement at the Cape of Good Hope.

The museum currently consists of four dwelling houses, ranging in date from 1709 to 1850. All houses are fully furnished with period pieces.
