A short ride up the mountain is the archeological site of the ancient city of Butrint. Scattered along the way of this scenic route are a few demolished buildings resulting from recent unresolved land title disputes, and more than 700,000 cement and steel bunkers built under the previous dictatorship of the country's Stalinist regime.
