My wife and I were in Rome for our 30th wedding anniversary from Sept 24 to October 1, 2006. It is a great city. The people we met were friendly and the food was great. There just just so much to see there (historical sites, religious sites, art, etc.). We were really surprised at how the ancient sites are simply an integral part of the city. You get out of the Metro and there is the Colosseum.
