Through the trees

Barkhamsted Reservoir, CT USA

Barkhamsted Reservoir is about 20 miles from our home. Just recently we started to go for walks there. This picture was taken standing on the dam (there is a road that crosses on top of it.

Saville Dam is an earthen embankment dam with masonry work on the eastern branch of the Farmington River 4 km southwest of Barkhamsted, Connecticut. The dam is 135 ft. (41 m) tall and 1,950 ft. (590 m) long and has an uncontrolled spillway on its western portion. It creates the Barkhamsted Reservoir which has a volume of 36.8 billion gallons and is the primary water source for Hartford, Connecticut. Wikipedia

I did not correct for distortion, as I felt the bit of distortion added to the image. Also I forgot to tell the camera the wide angle converter was attached.

I like the way you've achieved a neat Rule of Thirds composition here. The touch of blue in the middle of the central third draws the eye right back in this image. Lovely work,Frank.

An idyllic summer scene beautifully captured. Good you forgot to take off the WA converter. V
