Message from Felipe Pimentel I was born in Puerto Rican and I am sociologist. I am not a professional photographer since my main job is to teach sociology at Hostos Community College of the City University of New York (CUNY). Since 2007, I have been taking pictures using Nikon DSLR cameras (mostly of birds). After starting with an entry-level Nikon D40X, in 2008 I began shooting with a Nikon D300, a middle level DX body. In 2009, I moved to a full frame (FX) Nikon D700. More recently (September 2010), I started shooting with a Nikon D3S. Shooting with a D3S is a new adventure, since it is a great camera. I have been interested in photography since the 1970s (when I attended college in Puerto Rico) at a time when all were film cameras and manual focus lenses. Bit by bit, I am becoming a serious amateur photographer. In these galleries I have posted some of the pictures that I have taken during the past 4 years. I am still in the process of building my galleries.
