The breadth of the new shutter adaptor must be kept as narrow as possible. After all, every extra inserted millimeter increases the macro ratio but decreases the focusing range. The working distances gets smaller. This has the most impact on the AF60 lens, but also on the AF200 lens. The total width of the shutter with the mounting rings is now 34 mm, and a photo taken at a working distance of 80 cm creates a real-life image of 56 x 37 mm. That is very small for this application, but it does make beautiful close-ups!

Meanwhile, as photo was made with the grey card to see if the image circle is big enough. Fortunately, this photo comes out evenly lighted, demonstrating that the 25 mm shutter opening is large enough to permit good lighting in the outermost corners. After assembly of the Compur shutter, new adaptor rings and the original Nikon rings, we successfully complete the reconfiguration.
