This experiment shows how the soap bubble behaves if some marbles penetrate into the bubble. There for 4 marbles were used which were placed into a small tube. The bottom of the tube was closed with a small nail. Because of this the marbles couldn’t fall down yet. A soap bubble was made, the camera sett manual as well as the vivitar 283 flash. Most of the shots were done at F8. The used lens was the AF60/2.8D micro. The shot procedure is always the same with this type of photography : darken the room, open the camera with the cable release and pull out the nail from the tube so the marbles can fall down. The first marble interrupts the lightbeam just above the soap bubble which starts the timermodule. By changing the delay you can determine how deep the marbles fall into the soap bubble. With this experiment the delay was between 25 en 40 msec. The photo shows a marble that has penatrated already into the soapbubble without exploding.
