Your comment says, "I leave it to you to interpret what you like."

As it should be. There is a story being told here and we can each tell it our own way, big or small. Very nice. Cleverly composed, a unique perspective and crop.

Yes Vinh, the shot was deliberately framed this way. I wanted to show a family..any family on any given Saturday and I thought the crop makes the image more interesting. Thanks for the encouraging comments and the vote!

i'm not sure how i interpret this photo, but i like it, a lot actually. i like how people are the subject, and yet they aren't entirely visible. to me, the palm tree's shadow is only an entry point to the photo, but that the people is where my attention lands in the end.

was this shot deliberately framed this way? this is the kind of shot i don't have the eye to catch, but wish i did. voted.

Hmmm....how about an allegorical relationship between the palm fronds spreading out from the tree and the young girl experiencing some new freedom to explore, still visually tied to, but somewhat more independent, than her sibling, from her family "tree". At any rate, a very nice image, especially so in B&W.

Hi Ann. Neat B&W picture. The guessing game picture was a salt and pepper set - there is a picture of it on my PAD today !

Certainly an interesting composition, Ann. We don't get many opportunities like this in England...lol..

Splendid.
Everything is good here, from the excellente composition to the originality of the subject, to the treatment that is perfectly adequate. Great shadow, I like this picture very much. My vote ;-)

The little girl with the shadows are quite nice.

I love the shadowplay in this image and the black and white. I agree with karen, very nice caption of the little girl spreading her arms like the palm tree.
Karen Leaf17-Apr-2005 00:27
I like how the little girl's arms are mimicking the spread of the plam tree. Good choice for b/w.

Nicely composed b&w image!

er... there's an interpretation to this pic of a family outing. I mean, palm trees = California, no? LOL!! Great b&w!
