Raindrops Under Glass
It rained plenty the last couple days. Hooray! We were drying up here with 36 or 37 days over 90 deg. this summer, an all-time record. It was sure nice to get the rain. Down the street, this sheet of glass lay over water drops on the grass. I loved the effect!

Doing Its Own Thing!
Three red-eared sliders sitting on a log. The grownups face west. But like any kid, the little one has to be different!
The red-eared slider turtle is native to the southern part of the United States and also northern Mexico. These are by far the most common turtles kept as pets. and this is likely how these red-eared sliders ended up in Delta Ponds.

Proud of The New Hairdo
This Great Blue Heron seemed to be prancing around showing off its new hairdo. You have to admit it looks very striking!

A Good Day!
Carol and I spent an enjoyable day together. We went to Jerry's Home Improvement to get the house plant she has been wanting, don't know the name. Plus I got her a gorgeous Hawaiian Dendrobium Orchad and another beautiful plant with a strange yellow flower and green leaves with white stripes. I will have to find out the name of that one. I will try to get pictures of both sometime. They are both house plants, so Carol can enjoy them every day. Anyway, since it was Carol's day, I had to get a picture of her.

Fading Glory
Paid a visit to Owen Rose Garden today and there are still plenty of flowers, many beautiful roses, some showing a bit of fading glory, as this one. Still, it is gorgeous to me!

Brown Creeper in B&W
I was excited to see this Brown Creeper at Delta Ponds. The directional lighting made correcting color balance off, so it looked better to me in B&W. I will take a Brown Creeper in any color! :)

Delightful Dahlia
I just couldn't pass up this lovely flower, standing out in the sunlight.

Show Off!
It looks like the cormorant on the right is saying that to the one spreading its wings. Reminds me of what a human might say when another flexes their muscles. :) Photographed at Delta Ponds.

So Pretty in Pink!
This lily was so beautiful I felt like taking it. I wouldn't do that, of course. But it didn't stop me from taking a picture with me. :) Now I can enjoy it long past its lifetime. Another gorgeous design in nature.

Light in the Forest
A scene beautified by shafts of light the sun cast into the woods of the Whilamut Natural Area of Alton Baker Park. The beauty of the scene made me pause with appreciation and desire to capture it with my camera.

Natural Born Beauty
I seem to never be able to stop extolling the beauty of the rose. There is such a wonderful variety among them. This, I believe, is the Masquerade Rose, a multi-colored beauty and one of my favorites. It was a delightful part of my walk this morning!

Stopping at Starbucks
Today was the day for my semi-annual trip to Portland for an appointment at the Casey Eye Institute. It makes for a long day. The appointment was at 3:30 PM and by the time we got finished it was almost six. We stopped to eat dinner in Woodburn and just had to make a stop at Starbucks to get a latte for the road. By then the sun had set and we just had a warm glow to the west. It made Starbucks look very inviting.
