Fly By!
While visiting Alton Baker park, I walked along the canal that flows through it. In the area where lots of fishing is done, I saw a heron along the bank. He flew off in a loop and did a fly by in front of me. Quite a treat!

Gray Squirrel
On a walk through the filbert orchards at Dorris Ranch, I saw this gray squirel in a tree with a broken top. When it looked at me I tripped the shutter. Around here we usually find the gray squirrels near rivers or else in the hills. The red squirrels seem to found most every place else. The gray squirrels are bigger too.

Graffiti, Art or What?
Don't ask me what this is! :) It looks like meters or electrical boxes were removed from this wall, and somerone decided to get creeative with the shapes left behind. I thought it interesting but have no idea what they were trying to convey. Even so, there is something about it I like. LOL

Out of the Past!
These two old vehicles sit in an enclosed lot. Fencing around most of the lot made it hard to get good pictures. One side had chain link fencing and I shot through that. The gray area in the top right area of the photo is blurred fence. I think it helps give the feel of this vision of the past. I think the Ford truck and the Hudson sedan are from the 40's. If anyone knows the exact year models I would appreciate the info.

"What's in a name?"
"What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet;"
-- these commonly quoted words are part of a dialogue in William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. They were not specifically written about the beauty of the rose itself, rather Juliet argues that the names of things do not matter, only what things that "are", such as her love for Romeo. But the words "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet" remain a timeless tribute to the rose.

Fishing the Willamette
The fishing boats were out on the Willamette River today. Fishing must be good! This is a McKenzie River Driftboat.

Over the Fence, Before and After!
I love deer! I drove out Fox Hollow Road especially to see some. I saw a couple youngsters alongside the road as I was driving along. As one headed for the fence, I tried to get a shot of it going over. I ended up with a before and after, which I combined. (Yes, both are the same deer!) Maybe next time I can get one in the air!

Coburg Pizza Company
I woke up too early this AM so decided to drive around town with my faithful D3 by my side. This was the first time I used the D3 since my operation. One of the first places I passed was the Coburg Pizza Company, the best pizza in town. Of course, no pizza at this time of day!

Lovely In Any Light!
I just love this white lily I saw on a walk in the neighborhood.
I was able to capture it in the sunlight while the background was a dark shaded area, my favorite kind.

I've Got to Get One of These!
On my morning walk, I came across this T-shirt in a store window. I thought it was pretty neat! This is the solution for those who get sore necks from carrying a camera. :) No weight here, but it's a Leica! And if one doesn't come home with good shots, using this won't make any difference! Maybe I should take orders. LOL

Family Outing
This is quite a long procession of geese on the canal in Alton Baker Park. I managed to get them them all in the picture!

Elegantly Uncomfortable!
I saw this chair in a neighborhood yard. I think it is beautiful but don't think I would want to sit there long.
It goes well with that nice new fence!
