Taiko Drummers
Today was the running of the Eugene Marathon. There were many participants. Part of the course ran through Alton Baker Park. At various points along the course, entertainment was provided for the participants. Near Autzen Stadium there was a fantastic group, called Eugene Taiko
I could hear their performance on drums from a long way away. It drew me to them. I was able to get a few shots of them as they played. Their smiles melted my heart. :) They were really very good! About the guy in red behind them, he somehow got into just about all of my photos.
For information about the Eugene Marathon, see -
http://eugenemarathon.com/ I got a few pictures of some if the participants and hope to post a few soon.

Ready for Breakfast
This little Sparrow landed nearby with its breakfast in its beak. Looks like it will eat well.

Blacktail Doe
I roamed the foothills of the Coburg Hills in hopes of seeing a deer or two. Well, I saw only one, but heard others. They have better hearing than I do! This is the one I saw, a beautiful creature! I love deer, and am thrilled every time I see one, no matter how often that might be. It's not often enough for me!

The Cavitt Creek Covered Bridge
The Cavitt Creek Covered Bridge is located on Little River Road, near Glide Oregon. It is one of six such bridges in Douglas County, that I know of. Oregon once had over 650 covered bridges, but now has only about 50 that one can photograph.

Delightful Dragonfly
The dragonflies were active at Delta Ponds. So I watched and waited for them to land on bushes near me. This one cooperated and landed on a nearby flower. It was a delightful experience. :)

Gorgeous Green Heron
Started out for Alton Baker Park but when I got there is was raining. So I decided to go on to Delta Ponds where the sky looked a bit brighter. I got my walk in there, although getting a bit wet. But hey, I was rewarded with this shot of a Green Heron. We don't see many of them, and only at certain times a year, unlike the Great Blue Heron, which we see year round.

Carol did well considering the subject and the lighting! :)

Soaking In The Sun
Our day lilies are still coming out every day and showing off their beauty. I thought this was a good example.

Bearly Fun!
These grizzly bears at Wildlife Safari, in Winston OR, are having fun in the water, getting a bit muddy in the process.
In Wildlife Safari we drive through the park. So we are in cages and the animals are free, out in the open. It's great for photography. If you look up Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR, you can get some nice information about this park.
Thanks for looking,
Vern

You Talking to Me?
Mr friend, John, and I visited Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR today. It was a very warm day, even in the morning, so the animals were not as active as usual. Still we enjoyed the visit and the wildlife. I e3specially enjoyed the interaction between animals and the kids. The expression on this animal's face looks exactly like it is asking, "you talking to me?" It was a funny moment in time.

Red-tailed Hawk High in a Tree
This hawk (probably red-tailed) was sitting in a tall tree and occasionally calling. That's how I noticed it. The image from 300mm (810mm 35mm EFOV) is cropped 50% and still sharp as a tack to my eyes anyway. I am always thrilled to get a shot of one of these birds of prey.

Sweet Pea or Sweet Bee?
I visited Delta Ponds and saw lots of wild Sweet Pea growing there. The bees like it too! This is actually a Hoverfly. (Thanks Laura)
