Landing Pattern
I grabbed a shot of this Great Blue Heron as it came in for a landing in a tree, not far from Fern Ridge Dam. They never cease to amaze me. Did I tell you I love herons? :)

Just a Bit of a Frost!
We have had a bit of frost the last few mornings as the temperature dipped into the low 20's F. It feels icy cold out there.
I shot these leaves edged with frost at Alton Baker Park.

Rainy Day Color
It was a cloudy day threatening rain in the Hays Tree Garden at Alton Baker park. But at least the colors were great!

Beauty That Will Soon Be Gone
I was still able to find a beautiful flower but the frost we are getting is ending it all. Don't know what the flower is. Can anyone ID it for me? Thanks to Carrie and Walt for the ID! - Caryopteris (bluebeard) See -

Alton Baker Pond Scene
I was attracted to this pond scene at Alton Baker Park this morning. It was cold out there (for me anyway)! Temperature was about 25 degrees F, our coldest morning so far this year.

Romance in The Ponds
Picked up my Tamron 18-270 at the camera shop late this afternoon. This was the lens I dropped with my D1x. It's back from repairs and seems to work better than ever. Since the camera shop is close to Delta Ponds I went there to do some test shots. I ran out of daylight but still got this shot of a couple young lovers pausing for a kiss along the water.

Another One of the Ponds
This is a scene from another of the Delta Ponds on a cloudy morning. Wouldn't it be great to have a blue sky behind these colors? If I waited for that, I wouldn't be shooting many pictures.

Portrait of Cloud
Carol's horse Cloud, an Arabian/appaloosa mix, is a beautiful horse. I thought this portrait shows his beauty.

Look At Those Wings!
I was excited to get this view of an egret flying past at Delta Ponds. They are so pretty, and look at that wingspan!

A Reason Why I Love Alton Baker Park
Alton Baker Park is a large park, full of variety, a place where I find so much enjoyment with my photography. This scene shows why I love the park. Here is a quote from the City of Eugene webpage - "Alton Baker Park, Eugene’s largest developed park, is home to dozens of recreational features and facilities serving the City of Eugene since 1959. The park is made up of two major areas: the more developed West Alton Baker Park, and the 237-acre Whilamut Natural Area." See:
