Delta Ponds - Great For Photographers

Take a walk in Delta Ponds and you will usually see some photographers along the way. I find it a great place for photographers to get good photographs of wildlife. And to think that it all started out as gravel pits for use when the I-5 freeway was built! Eugene Parks came into possession of these areas along the Willamette River and began a project to remake them into several interconnected ponds. They were highly successful and won an award from the State of Oregon for their work. Delta Ponds is now a most enjoyable place to walk and photograph.

You can read about the project here - http://www.eugene-or.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/133
The second photo in the article, of the heron, is one of mine.

I always think about how fortunate you are to have nearby parks filled with wildlife to enjoy and photograph. Thank you for sharing the story of someone's decision to make their world a better place. I wish all cities would have leaders with such vision. Voted.

Certainly stands out in yellow, think he will scare the wildlife away.
