Western Scrub Jay

Here is a Western Scrub Jay in a bush at Alton Baker Park. The scrub jay is very pretty I think, but also somewhat aggressive with other, smaller birds. It is quite common in Oregon.

What a beautiful bird -- especially goes well with the wonderful (yet cold) background you put him in. I Love that I feel like I can totally FEEL like I'm here, even though I'm not.

Nicely done. He'd have the meat out of your sandwich any time, and the bread still in your hand.

I think these little birds are beautiful, wonderful shot Vern!

Scrub Jays are aggressive with smaller birds, but they're total and complete cowards with anything that's even remotely the same size as them. Crows and ravens have to be deeply embarrassed to be on the same branch of the family tree with these guys. ;-)

'Looks like a sparrow in "tie-dye".
