Years ago, when I was a kid, we lived along Fall Creek about 25 miles east of Eugene. Fall Creek Dam rests on our old property. My father had nine acres there. It was a wonderful place to grow up, with lots of huge trees and wildlife. Fall Creek runs through a small valley that reminded my mother of Germany. She was born there and lived there, in the Black Forest, until she was about 25 years old. It is still a pretty area, though much different now. The water behind the dam is low for the winter, so some of the shots around the lake area show the high water marks. The drive stirred old memories of a happy time and also filled me with melancholy.
