Life Changing Events

Early last year my wife and I fostered some a cat and 5 kittens. It was for a few reasons, we had lost our 2 cats prior to that and they were both nearly 20yrs old. So, fostering seemed a good way to see if we wanted/were ready for more. Needless to say, we kept 2! Its been awesome!

Jump ahead to now... We had a Shepherd that was probably one of the greatest additions to our life. When we lost him. Wow. It was rough. I like a house with 2 dogs in it. We have a hound that's been kinda lost without her buddy. I decided that we should try fostering a dog - test run sort of thing. Its been a week and we have had our ups and downs for sure. He suffers from severe separation anxiety - and has left his mark on the house. He is a big boy at nearly 90 pounds. So far has shown zero aggression, just a sponge that wants to soak up love. I honestly wish I could erase his memory of what humans can be like... I don't think his life was filled with much happiness.

I believe that coming to our home has been a life changing event for him. Its been pretty cool to see him let go a little and trust.

Even a little...
