The Village Boy
There is a sense of innocence in the boy's eyes. Despite of his poverty state, he looked pretty carefree in his simple lifestyle as a village boy. Count our lucky stars that we are able to have a roof under our head.

Check Out My Stick
Toddlers love to play with sticks. And this shot in particular I like most is the composition and the subjects in it. You see two siblings playing together while at the back a couple on a motorcycle riding away from the scene.

Little Watermelons For Sale
Don't think that small watermelons don't taste sweet. They are delicious!

The Innocent Smile
I can't remember exactly where I took this boy's picture. It could be at the market or even in one of the villages we visited. I caught him unware. It's the perfect shot.

A Face To Remember
I like this shot very much. The boy's expression says it all and it compliments with his little sister holding a bunch of bananas. They were of course waiting for tourist to buy their bananas.

Peace Or Money?
I wonder what this boy is trying to communicate to us. Is he asking for Two Dollars or indicating the `peace' sign? Basing on his expression, I would think he was asking for money. Commonly seen among the Vietnamese kids who were paddling at the Tonle Sap Lake while selling their precious bananas to tourists. By the way the boy in pink/red is blind on his left eye.

Nibble Or Two
I suppose it's the same everywhere, children just love to eat sweets! Or at least when I gave them a bunch, they were all delighted! Too bad I didn't give them more....I should have.

Caught By Surprise
Surprise......I suppose both were surprised to see each other, for me, she suddenly popped out from behind the tree and for her to see me with the camera. She was rather unusual from the `Mud Children' (those at the village). She had a very peculiar look which reminded me of a child from the jungle. Someone who was captured by the wolves and became their child. Maybe it's because of her filthy appearance and her bewildered expression (look at her clinging on to the tree trunk) but we jolly well know she is someone's daughter. I assume one of the land mind victim child as a group of them were playing some music outside the walkway to the temple grounds of Phnom Bakheng.

I Am So Happy
The expression on this kid's face is priceless. He was thrilled to see us and extremely shy when we wanted to take photos of him!

Becareful, I Got A Knife
She looks as though she is about to spike me with that knife. But actually she was holding the metal rod and the knife was sitting behind it. Phew...otherwise I would have run for my life!

School Gal
Caught this shot while we were on our way back to town from our visit at the floating village in Tonle Sap. She was resting outside her wooden house. I only presume after school!

With Delight
These two girls were delighted to see us walking towards them. I just love their smiles - priceless.

Photo Shoot
The boy is obviously trying to make the `peace sign' at this shot. The expression of all the kids in this picture is special. Even the little boy on the right eating the sweet, he seemed to look like he is in the world of his own, while the girl is full of joy!

Boo....I Am Here
Yoo hoo....hello! Can you see me waving my hand? Take a shot of me......err......well I did try...

The Eyes
This is not exactly the best picture I took of a Cambodian boy. But what I wanted to say is you can see the `suffering' in the eyes of the boy. It's a hard life being in the village.

The Naughty Boy
He has the naughty look on his face.

The villagers tend to have big families. I suppose they lack family planning.

My Life Is In This Boat
I have no choice but to follow my mum everyday paddling in the lake looking out for tourists to sell my bananas. This is my life...if only I could change it.

25-JAN-2007
Tiring Ride
It's so hot out there and I have to do this everyday, paddling on the lake and sell these bananas. How I wished I could do something else other than sitting on this boat!

Toddler And His Horse
It's a pity sight to see children in the street in such conditions. This kid in particular was with an adult who was selling books. At such a tender age having to be in the street and with only one miserable toy to play with. It's sad.....
24-JAN-2007
A Nibble
The kids don't have much to eat or even enjoy. Just the local food (if any). The poorer families just live by eating rice only. Attached below are a couple of pictures illustrating the scene of village life.
