Last night we had the much anticipated haggis for dinner, a traditional Burn's supper of haggis, neeps and bashed tatties. It's very filling food and left no room for pudding, which was to have been raspberries in a red wine jelly (storebought), accompanied by frozen crannachan (a Scottish dessert involving raspberries and much cream and also homemade).

Today was grey - dull weather and a busy day with no time to myself. No picture of the day by the time I got home from work, so I pulled last night's dessert out of the fridge, dropped some into a glass dish and pulled out a handy maglite to light it.

Dinner was a smaller affair tonight, so left plenty of room for the raspberry jelly with frozen crannachan. I think it probably tasted much better than it looks.

this is fabulous! I like how you can see all the different greys in the background and there's just this TOUCH of color in the puding. Wonderful. And I'd love to hear more about your tatties & whatever else you were talking about that sounded so unfamiliar to me. Haggis I've actually heard of but never eaten.

Looks good to me - oh and you fooled me - I thought it'd been done in daylight!
