A look at the curve of the dam and the drum towers on a rainy day. The towers feed water to generators hundreds of feet below, at the foot of the dam (on the dry side, of course!). At far left are pillars for the new bypass highway. The immense bathtub ring reveals how dry the Colorado drainage has been in the last decade.
The near towers are in Arizona; the far, Nevada. Las Vegas is just a few thirsty miles beyond the center of the picture.
