Mexico 25 Peso 1968 Olympics

The Vault

These Olympic pesos were in such demand in 1968 that coins exactly like this one easily sold for 25 DOLLARS each. That's a bit over $200 in today's dollars, depending on how you interpret CPI. I know because I bought one then from my after-school job money. I proudly displayed it to my grandmother, who took it in her hand and rubbed her fingers all over it. I about died. So now I have a unique memento of my grandmother, her fingerprints on a very expensive coin.

My investment savvy has improved. Coins like this are available today for 25 cents over the bullion value - about $7.50.

I currently have four coins from the 1968 Olympics and 1 1971 female football Olympic 0.950. Would you know what the value of them would be?
