Hiking time: 561 minutes and 26.76 seconds, or 9 hours and 21 minutes. I estimate the distance to be 13 miles and the climbing to be 2,000 feet. An ungodly amount of up and down on this section of the Pacific Crest Trail. Took this hike following three days in a row of getting aerobic, so it just wore me out. But I feel okay now. Astounding scenic elements made it worth the effort. One of the most glorious views I've ever seen in the Columbia Gorge: Dry Creek Falls. Then the Pinnacles. Finally, the bridge over Herman Creek (which I photographed last week). Lots of Columbines out, one of the most beautiful wildflowers there is.

Took 232 photos of which 124 made the cut. Too many, right? Now you won't even look, and miss some of the most spectacular scenery I've ever photographed. Used the 12-40mm going and the 40-150mm coming back.

The temperature when I started out was 55 degrees F. and stayed cool all day, the temperature never rising above 70 degrees, so it stayed comfortable for hiking. Only trouble is, it was sunny, and so problematical for photography in the forest (too much contrast I couldn't always deal with and had to throw away too many otherwise spectacular scenes).
