300mm f/4 ED-IF AF-S Nikkor vs. Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Zoom Macro Super II

This is really comparing apples and oranges. I knew the Sigma did extremely well in close-ups, but wanted to see how it compared to the Nikon at infinity. The Sigma was set to 300mm for both of its images. The results speak for themselves. Money well-spent (for the Nikon).

The Nikon is peerless for landscapes at infinity. The Sigma is really not up to par for that purpose. It is a specialty lens with excellent results for close-ups. But you need to find something else for distant shots.
