Let’s hope that it’s a great day for the ....UK.....

The sun is out, Labour is out, and we have now got a chance of great change. (Even though I hate politics we have got to hope) for the better.

..Prescotts.. ranting and ravings last night showed exactly why labour have made a mess of the social culture of the ....UK.... over the last 13 years making abusive aggressive behaviour the norm. Let’s get back to treating people with respect and dignity. And bring back pride in our selves as well as the Country

Being brought up with homophobic views in 2010
Current mood: ashamed
Category: Life
When I was a teenage boy I had a lot of issues going on in my head. About my sexuality. I found that I liked and had emotional love to my best friend but it did not go any further. I had a girl friend but did not have the same feelings of intense chemistry that I had with my friend. The only known gay person in the town was a tailor and everyone took the mucky out of him behind his back. Gay was a stigma word in such a closed country town. I spent a lot of my early life running away from my emotions and feelings trying to sort my self out, sometimes drinking to much to blot things out. I joined the RAF in order to try and get away from a town that was not taking me anywhere and also hopefully sort out my feeling. It did the first of the two things, but it did not sort the second out. I fell in love in every posting that I went to but did not follow it through.
The point that I am getting to in this story is, on local radio in ....Plymouth.... this morning, people where asked what worst program on television was there this year. A boy of 12 called from a council area of ....Plymouth.... saying that he hated the Royal Television awards last night because he hated John and Edward.
The D.J said that he thought that they where good and could not understand the boys view, to which the boys said that they where queer. I should think that the boy got these views from his parents or pier friends. At a later stage in life he could find that he might identify with guts more than girls. Homophobia as we well know is based on guilt and possibly hidden desires

Guys having a six pack for 2010 have a magazine pin up look.
A cording to the papers and magazines it’s the thing for guys from 9 to 109 to have a six pack and a great shape. The best way to achieve this is cut right back on the alcohol especially beer. do lots of swimming whilst thinking about your stomach muscles and concentrating on tensing them whilst swimming or doing other sports, sit ups, pull ups etc. a healthy body is a healthy mind and physiology so you look great feel great which reflects on how you relate to and mix with other people. My life over the years has been, and is the ultimate adventure.

You are only as good as what you do next.Youtube the story
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpYJy4WIpyI

I spend a lot of it walking around taking in visual and sound information and storing in my head, learning about people from all walks of life with all sorts of issues.

I have climbed high mountains, sailed across the seas, flown in fast jets, been winched on and of helicopters, cycled hundreds of miles.

But the biggest challenge up to date is trying to get established in photo and T.V.Media.

....Plymouth.... is a great area of the world to live in geographically, but it’s a social and economic trap, that is very hard to get out of. It also has an over enthusiastic police (Some very corrupt) authority that spends more time taking away the dignity and respect of individuals rather than sorting out real issues. ((false and should be illegal imprisonment for hours on end).

It is seriously affecting the well being of the social culture in the area and possibly across the Country, running a City, and nation on fear rather than well being. Dignity and respect. Words I use a lot, because it’s what I am all about.

I need a break with my work to be covering social, and lifestyle issues word wide. When you get to a certain age you begin to realise the value of life and I want success, I have worked very hard for over the years. Life is an adventure to live to the full on a daily bases. Respect and trying to understand those around you for who they are. It’s a lifestyle thing.

Be who you want to be.

In some areas of creativity in art, science, culture, there must be an element of none conforming to rules and regulations, otherwise nothing gets achieved. Challenging what is going on around us is all important. Others wise there may be nothing of relevance to look at in the future. From the past.?

I mite get more stick for this but I am glad to be European I think that culturally we have more to gain. Britain for generations has thought that it is above what goes on in the rest of the world. We do not have the clout or power that we used to have and in some ceases become a laughing stock to the rest of Europe. Been above what is going on.
In real terms we should have had a referendum as it is dangerous for choices to be made for issues relating to what goes on in the U.K to be taken away from the choice of the population.
In the Case of Europe though a lot of British people with blinkered and in some cases racist and views want to keep indapenant. I don’t like Brown or Blair for what they have done for the U.K with primitive and backwards thinking politics taken from old values that are now out of date with the new digital world we are living in. There are a lot of learning curves to be made and at the moment they seem to be getting things very wrong, and in the process creating wars in order too bring back control. God forbid Blair being the new president. It’s an hard one and comes across as contradictory. But I am glad to be European rather than a blinkered and narrow minded Brit

David Bailey in the times magazine 31st October 2009. It was an interesting read, from one of the U.K s greatest living photographers. Bailey was at the heart of the new pop art scene of the sixties. A film Blow up was loosly based around his bohemian life as a fashion photographer during that period. He photographed the Karys London notorious gangsters, he mixed with most of the creative people of the day Warhol, Cecil Beaton, etc. He is inspired by the pre Raphaelites painters from the 1800 early 1900s. As a fashion photographer he had no formal education in to his art and started taking pictures at 15. A few years ago I had an exhibition at the wharf arts centre in Tavistock Devon along side a close friend of his and one of the three photographers that formed the Olympus group of photographer. Bailey, Barry Lategon and Terrence Donavan. Both photographers it was a privilege to meet and they both had a lot of time to listen to a see the work of other. Bailey agent told me as I have mentioned before that Colleges and universities can put obstacles in to your ways of conforming and thinking. Turning out clones in art or photography. Especially in today’s world of new digital media. A .lot is very exiting but at the same time new boundaries are put up that are also new and possibly out of touch. Holding back in some cases the creative process. When is photography art and where are the boundaries and who has the right to dictate where those boundaries are. Is or can photography be art. It is still a record of a period in our history. As bailey mentioned a lot of the people he photographed are not around now, his photographs form, as well as being very creative a valuable record of live. Well done Bailey and I know that you are aiming at doing many more projects now in your 70s. Why is it that the good die Young,
The bad live for ever,
They inspire us,
Please us,
Through there valued time,
Some time confronting issues,
Those others call a crime,
We are only human,
Words from a song,
And differ from each other,
We are who we are,
We dint respect our days,
Until they are gone,
Live each day with passion,
Respect for what we have,
Try to understand each other,
Be happy in who we are.

Is this U.K government the laughing stock of the world?
With constant headline news paper headlines of constant in house fighting, whilst we go across the world illegally creating wars and making laws that even our own politicians can not abide by. It makes a serious mockery of government and law. With more Britain’s being locked up for the slightest reason with laws create by peopled in politics who can not even stand by the laws that they create and then make an apology when they break them. (Just small words that anyone can say when caught out. May be the rest of the Country should keep apologising so that they can get out of petty crime situations. The only thing that I am sorry about is to the people in Iraqu and Afghanistan, U.K. that have had there lives damaged and turned up side down by such idiots in politics Sorry

After the Plymouth Pride event on Saturday last I saw guys openly holding hands in the street. One showed to me hello again after recognizing me from the pride event. I said the same back and smiled Also guys holding hands on the Hoe. Plymouths water front. Girls also doing the same in the streets. Last night I was walking from the Hoe when four young guts walked past wearing pink tights with pink shorts and pink tee shirts. The identity issues seem to be breaking down for the better, with lots of guys with long hair. Just being them selves. I spend a lot of my time walking around and just observing people. Young people today don’t seem to have an issue with gay strait or what ever. Where some people in power still do. You only have to take a look at social networking sites to find this out.

The world has moved on greatly since the bill was introduced just after the war. We need a new opennes in recording information both in text and photographily or through other forms of art, in other words change the date name of the bill and bring it in to the 21st century no bundling on this one.

Over many year the U.K television soaps have shown nothing but dysfunction. Aggression violence and verbal abuse with a constant lack of respect to people. Some people in the U.K think that it is changing society in to an aggressive one as young pellet think that this is how to behave and is the norm. Other elements add to this including politics and law. I gave up watching television soaps many years ago for this reason. There should be families in the programs that work together and have a good healthy live in comparison to the dysfunctional looser types. Bring back respect, dignity and well being in to society.

The Alan Sugar mentality that the goverment loves. Breaks down society. Thugs.?

It’s interesting.
When a guy with a great body takes his shirt of for the cameras, he becomes a gay I can. If a girl like Kate Moss does it, she becomes a great pinup for the guys. It seems to show how imagery is taken over by, and aimed predominantly at men. President Putin on holiday looked great riding the horse and swimming, with a body to envy for a 56 year old. It’s a pity that other world leaders who tell us that we need to keep fit and stay in shape don’t follow his lead.
Could you imaging Gordon Brown riding a horse swimming or even climbing a mountain. What is the old saying.
A healthy mind is a healthy body.
Obama follows the same trend as Putin. Lets see world leaders try it upstage each other in keeping fit and healthy. May be we can get John Prescott to set an example also.
I think that it’s pathetic the way petty minded journalists attack the man for looking great. So what if it does look like a scene from Broken Back Mountain when he rides a horse in the wild. Any man with his shirt of would if in shape. What sort of shape is the journalist in that rite the article in the first place?

Well surprise surprise.
Yesterday I was talking about the amount of nudity in profile pictures ion the net. Today the police in the ....U.K..... made a statement about the very subject on mobile phones. Stating that they where concerned about the risk of bullying, abuse, and risk of black mail. Not sure if this is a propaganda statement or not. As I have seen and hears of them using the very same behaviour in the ....U.K.....
Lets blot forget that a lack of openness in the past has led to a very high level of underage pregnancies in the U.K. as well as a very high level of sexually transmitted disease within the young age groups. An open attitude to nudity and sex if far healthier than a closed one which also leads to a high level of corruption by the very organisation that made the statement

Lips that speak a thousand words
And also kiss a lover
send young men to fight for causes
And kill there fellow brother,
Fight for peace,
And fight for freedom,
Then fight one another,
Whilst politicians drink gin and whisky,
Then go and kiss a lover,
Then get paid sums of money,
To have the life they please,
And send young men to fight for causes
And kill there fellow brothers,
Then tell them that there heroes,
For killing one another.

I wrote this a few years ago about people who stand out in society.
Jesus was a hoody.
He grew his hair to long,
Talked to a bunch of looser,
He caused political alarm,
Should have had an ASBO,
For breach of the peace,
A threat to the system,
With his choice of speech.

Dysfunctional gay pubs in Plymouth that have left me £600 in debt.
Hawkins meeting place.
Stolen pictures of there wall at the end of 2008, allegedly by Allyson the then manager. Valued at £500 two original silk screen prints on day glow paper 20x16.
One back reclining figure on a sofa, the other a standing figure. Two more 20x 16 pictures of Robert Lenkiewics one in black and white the other in colure. Mid shots of Robert and Model Lucinda Nash all 20x16 If you see then being sold at auction let me know.
The Clarence Stonehouse with Mandy Stevens. 2008 early 2009
She asked me to do a studio photo shoot and I did it at cost price. She then agreed a price at cost price for canvas prints. They came to £108 after printing the images after agreeing the price she left me with the pictures and lab bill of £108.
All of these pubs I got in to 3 sixty magazine with no thanks. I will never work with such Dysfunctional businesses again they are doe nag nothing for gay people in Plymouth. The city could have a health and vibrant scene but the scene is being failed by much disorganized management a total disgrace.

It is rare when you go out in the landscape and get very emotional with what you are seeing.
Last Saturday I rode to a beach in Cornwall. The May Day was hot and very sunny; the sky was a Mediterranean blue which was reflecting on the sea. The sandy beach stretched as far as the eyes could see.
Patterns of colure from the saturated tones of blue where casting patterns through the streams passing through the sandy beach to the sea.
Rock pools with a wide range of worn rocks casting reflections in to pools of water surround them.
I left the beach and cycled a littel distance when I came across a field full of buttercups, on taking a closer look I was privileged to see a stallion rolling in a carpet of the flowers.
Life can be the closest thing to heaven on days like this and it was a privilege to see such a poetic day unfold.
Earlier in the week I was in woods with a model in bluebells taking prtraits, we came across a herd of deer in the woods, which is another rare and very special priviledge. To me this is what life is all about.

What there saying in New York.
I wanted to tell you that I have spent the last hour looking all over the internet for your pictures because I really liked some of the photographs you posted on this profile and wanted to see more. After seeing some other sites with your work I want to tell you that I don't know if you are a full time photographer or if you just do it as a hobby but your portraits are really beautiful. I assume you know who Jurgen Teller and Rineke Dijkstra are as some of your shots have the same power and strength. I have worked in photography for the last 10 years of my life with some of the best photographer's in the world and I am always so inspired to find photography that is new and enlighting. I thank you for sharing your talent, keep up the good work

Last night saw the local charity fund raiser to promote the dignity and respect of humans. I.E. us.
Its quite interesting, but disturbing to see that a lot of the ill treatment of people being held with out charge, respect or dignity comes from the Bush administration in America under the name of Voices from God. Peace Freedom and civil Liberties. Err Hem Yes Mr. Bush I am sure you are right. Not.

In answer to a rather silly statement left here yesterday.
A few years ago I had a photography exhibition using the male nude in the landscape at the Wharf Arts Centre in Tavistock, Devon near Plymouth; the exhibition was with top fashion photographer Barry Lategon., Barry was one of the top fashion photographers in the 1960s and he remembers it? Along side Baily and Terence Donaven.
Together they formed the Olympus group of phototographers. (Of the top of my head) it could have been cannon. Advertising the camera in commercials on T.V.they where seen as fashion trend setters of the decade, and had celebrity status.
Barry was one of the guys who introduced twiggy on the fashion scene of the day. Baily was known for the film blow up which was loosely based around his character, and his links with the Krays Andy Wharhol and the likes.
Donavan was known for his larger than life size and his middle class celebrity fashion work.
At the reception one evening at the Wharf I told Baily that if you get the conditions right in the South West you could almost photographically be in California or on Australia Bond Beach, three week later I was taking pictures on Fistral Beach Newquay taking pictures for the Fistral And Beyond series when I noticed a middle aged man running a power drive on his then analogue 35 mm camera. I took a second glance and noticed that it was Baily he was taking pictures of a skateboarder on the ramp.
As I past the time of day with him (I would have liked to have taken his picture but was running out of medium format film shooting on a mamma c220.)
It turned out that he was getting pictures for Italian Vogue.

Going back to the top.
Baily once said not to long ago. That when taking a picture he is in love visually with that person for two minutes, or for the length of time that it takes to take that picture.
In other words.
If you do not get inspiration taking the picture then there is no point in taking it, and in deed you would not visually see what is in front of you. There has to be an emotional element in it. And that goes for all forms of art.
Fistral Beach Newquay Surf Culture Lifestyle Chris Summerfield 29-Aug-2008 09:36
In 1993 I took a series of pictures of the artist Robert Lenkiewicz.I produced a DVD on four Plymouth Artists in 2006 with the help of CSV Media in Plymouth.
The DVD included Robert Lenkiewicz, Lee Woods, Jill Coughman, and Ian Barlow, putting faces to there art. And the artists in Plymouth at the time.
The shop manager at the museum and gallery said that they did not want to sell the video as they did not like Robert Lenkiewicz. In 2002 when Robert Died the Council of Plymouth said that they would do everything they can to keep the name and art of Robert Lenkiewicz in the City of Plymouth. On another not, the artist George from Gilbert and George fame was brought up and went to school in Plymstock near Plymouth before eventually moving to London where he met Gilbert, underneath the arches I believe, Joke.
There is nothing in Plymouth to represent this link to the City either. The thinking in the City is backwards and non productive to the creative industries and keeping art and artists in what could be a for front part of the Country for the creative industrys.Great landscape some very nice people, a cross section of cultures and lifestyles.
Two major colleges and universities that cater for art and the knock on industries for art televising computer and digital photograph y as well as traditional.
Plymouth College of art and design.
Over the years there has been a lot of promise to help keep creativity in the area, but with blinkered and blind thinking by the council to anything out side the aggressive and abusive dock yard mentality, pubs and club culture that dominates the City. Creativity gets lost to other areas. You only have to get out to naiboring towns to see a vast cultural difference and a release of money.
Which is frustrating for a lot of creative people?
Resently the council was told that the City was run more like a northern industrial town, how true this is, not just industrially but mentally as well. Plymouth could be open and lead the way for other City’s in the Country.
The leaders make promises that they very quickly forget about when it effects there cosy lives in the Council.
Fistral Beach Newquay Surf Culture Lifestyle Chris Summerfield 28-Aug-2008 11:40
Wrong mate I agree with you on the arts council issue. I deleted the offensive post and others because I do not have time to go through everything posted here. At the end of the day this guest book and gallery is to promote my work. I do not want it to be political as there is other gallery s you can use for that, possibly the Tate one which apparently is now being used to have a go at me.
As I have not verbally attacked anyone in my guestbook I suggest that it shows the type of people that are using the internet. I am a gay male living in Plymouth and yes my work does go in that direction and so what.
I am open about my work in Plymouth and everywhere else, and I still work with a cross section of people, respecting them at every level. / Which is more than I can say for Alan Harris the person mentioned in an earlier note...?
Over the last two weeks I have just produced 7 videos for you tube. 7 years of Gay pride London checks them out. (A possible book) Included in this is help and advice for gay people in the South West of England as well as Plymouth.
Yesterday I made a video promoting a Plymouth gay pub. Which went out on you tube this morning; this is also promoting a local singer song Writer called Jazmin.
I hope to cover other issues soon and promote more music.
Last week I did a photo shoot with a singer song writer called Kris Oxley you can see the video on you tube.
I have found that trying to get money out of South West Arts and the Arts Council a total waste of time unless you are making minimalist art or sound.
If by being open with what I say on my own website, which is all fact and not fiction I leave my self open to fools who just troll forums to attack and abuse other then it shows how sad they are. I suggest that they get a life. To me this system is just a tool to get art and information out to the rest of the world, I rude ignorant to anyone. I Have seen here intellectual people use statistics to justify why they should hate or not like others. We can all do that as mentioned before, to lead by positive examples of respect and understanding then it will have a knock on effect in the longer term.
And Plymouth is a place where people have been falsely imprisoned, set up, sexually and physically abused, and falsely arrested by people in law.
IF I leave my self open for small minded attacks again then so be it, a lot of Plymouth people have been effected.( not a coward as mentioned before, but a person who will stand up for respect dignity, and humanity to all) I am not an extremist either.
All my work so far has been working for nothing in order to try and get established. now that is frustrating.
ON ANOTHER NOTE
Whilst at college in 1993 I produced a video on Plymouths first world AIDS day.
It was an interesting project which was a mixture of vox pop. Documentary, stills, one of the guys was 21 great looking, when I started to interview him it turned out that he had got full blown AIDS. As we started talking it turned out that he had to leave London because of the prejudice attitude towards him.
I had a photo exhibition of male and female nudes at Plymouth arts centre during this events week. the event was called Time To Act.

This file is here for temporary reasons whilst I transfer the imformation, so ignore and excuse the spelling mistakes Please.Who blames who?
The government blames the parents,
For youth culture breaking down,
Boys stab each other,
With weapon they have found,
For years the police have created,
A naming shaming culture,
That plays in to hands of villains,
With vendettas’ to score,
The governments gave us wars
In the name of Freedom, Pace and Love,
Are these the sort of signals?
That comes from a voice above,
Blair got paid millions
for his American support,
Where are the Questions?
That we seem to have ignored.
That famous voice from god,
That told him to kill innocents abroad,
The UK youth are fighting now,
Settling there own angered scores,
Blaming race or sexuality,
Or even foreigners,
From lands far abroad,

I am sick of hearing raciest statements,
From people in towns around,
When drunk on some sort of toxins’,
Not all alcohol I have found.
What sort of signals have they given,
Society around?
What is there so called peace?
What is the common ground?
Let police and politicians,
blame the parents,
it’s the easy thing to do.
Let’s teach love peace and understanding,
not vendettas,
that start us break down.
Stop the propaganda,
Ignorance and double standards,
Legal thugs, serious corruption,
just breeds further hatred,
that spirals out of control.
So who is really to blame?

Jesus was a hood.
Jesus was a hood,
Grew his hair to long,
Talked to a crowd of losers,
Caused political alarm,
He should have had van sabot,
for breach of the peace,
a threat to the system,
with his choice of speech
Chris Summerfield copyright Another statistic.

Another statistic,
Another with the bug,
Another risk taker,
Told me yesterday,
He said he had a lover,
From a town far away,
Who told him that he was single,
And the only one he loved,
He said that he was safe,
So they went all the way,
And now he lives the narrow line,
That means he lives for the day,
He has to see a doctor,
Three months at a time
to see that his blood count.
Does not pass the line.

He told me of a guy 16,
He met on line,
which caught the bug first time,
in a town down the line,
we all take risks in the things that we do,
its part of our living,
part of our very being.

It was not the first and won’t be last,
I have been told in the past,
Live for the day,
and for tomorrow.
Our life is all we have,
Lips that speak a thousand words and also kiss a lover,
Send young men to die for causes and kill there fellow brother,
Fight for peace, fight for freedom,
Lets then fight one another,
All because of chosen words that then kiss a lover

A few years ago I met a guy at Mistral.
I managed to get him scheduled for a photo shoot with a magazine in London.
Before he could get to the shoot he was involved in a road accident that left him in a comber for a while.
This poem was written with him in mind and the fragility of life.
Fragile life
Life can be fragile,
When you turn another page,
Held in suspension,
Day after day,
Fighting for your very being,
A need to survive,
To live and be happy,
For a very long time.

A world Of Diversity
A world of diversity,
of every shape and kind,
Heavy metal rockers,
from another time,
Tattoos and piercing,
human statements of art
Are real self expression,
of another kind.

At Nineteen
At nineteen full of fun,
A world full of dreams,
Working hard,
And having play time,
Life is just a ball,
At nineteen,
Its all adventure,
To experiment is fine,
Finding out who you are,
Helps to pass the time. Corporate Logos
A scene full of corporate logos,
Flaunted everywhere,
Headwork’s to Calvin Klein,
Coke is also there,
The only virgin on the beach,
Is a can for all to share

Rain
Rain ran,
Come down and greet me,
though the soil,
to the sea me,
from stream to river,
Come and bathe me,
Free my thoughts,
Caress and stroke me,
Then go to the sea.

When Surf Is Up
When surf is up and raging high,
Strong winds blow beneath the sky,
I get the urge to shout and cry,
for life is great when endorphins are high
Open Eyes,
See the world with open eyes,
Breath in the aromas of life,
Natures colures all around us,
Brought from a spectrum of light.

This mad house that is England,
Where sanity’s gone wild,
Where sense and logic,
Have lost the plot,
At least for a while,
Stress and anxiety,
Thrown from above,
When all I want in life is a white turtle dove.
Rolling sandy beaches on long hot summer days,
Away from the manic world,
Where water music plays,
The whistling of the birds as they play in the trees,
Dolphins playing games with boats,

So happy and free

For David

Another fragile situation,

Can make you feel scared,

Have the strength to fight the threat,

What ever it may be,

See your world with open eyes,

Live each day with pride,

Live long live happy,

Be who you are,

Who ever that may be.

Let it strengthen character,

Always do your best,

to help people around you,

If there not a pest.

For that means that you have won,

and become a better being

be wise and show kindness,

Tot your fellow man.

Always know who you are,

And what you want from life,

the road may be long but don’t stray from the path.

Keep away from Petty issues,

for life is all we have. Will I get to where I want to be?
Or struggle all the time,
a life of adventure,
travelling cross foreign lands,
seeing a wealth of culture
how other people live.
I have spent a long time aiming,
to achieve the goal of mine,
Will I get the chance?
Or is time just running out,
I have so many things to do,
and leave a legacy behind
