Hoonah and Icy Strait Point Alaska

Hoonah is a very small fishing village on the site of an old Tlingit indian settlement. It is now dominated by the old Icy Strait Salmon Company cannery, which now serves as a private cruise ship destination. From here we boarded a whale viewing cruise to Icy Strait Point Aldolphus, which has the highest concentration of humpback whales in the Alaska panhandle. Next was a drive to the Spasski River Valley for viewing the Alaska coastal brown bear.
