Back in Time

I was born in Finland (1966). I miss my home country still to this day! We moved to FL in May 1980 - just when Mt. St Helens blew up...little knowing that in 1995 we would be living in the same state. My father based away in 1988 and my beloved horse, Omar, just last year in 2008. I am still trying to adjust to live without him. Did I ever dream my life to turn out as it has - not at all! Today, I learn to live with a brain tumor that affects my everyday life with low energy and short term memory loss and hormonal imbalances. I take shots of human growth hormone in order to be able to have some energy, brain functionality and *try* to keep my weight somewhere below whale weight. I am thankful to be still full time employed. But, I miss my body before all this started and able to think and have energy to do everything I want to do. This condition ages you far faster than you would be aging and on bad days I sure feel it. My life is slower now no longer working all of time and instead enjoying more time with my mom which is a blessing!

When they say 'stress will kill you' doctors are not kidding, take care of your health while you have it!

Your story has much sadness but also much hope. I am glad you have your mother, and the animals which always bring comfort by their love. I was born in Germany but have lived in America all but 6 years of my life. I, too, find comfort in the company of four-legged friends. Thank yo for sharing your story and pictures.
