Our FOUR kittens were born on very early morning March 10, 2009!

We are all still exhausted after a week later as Mrs. is not that thrilled with this mothering thing. So our human has to help her feed them every four hours. She seems to be complaining about getting up middle of night after Mrs. wakes her up as the little ones are screaming again and we don't know what to do with them. I have tried to help but Mrs. doesn't seem to think that is good idea and I get shown the paw way too often - all I want to try to help! These kittens of ours do seem to cry awful lot especially after I have settled in the bed with my human.

First born is much like Mrs - mixed colors most gray, white and little brown. Human is confused how to tell if they are a boy or a girl, if she would let me investigate closer, I would tell her.

Second to greet us is brown and white - such pretty one!

Third arrival is black and white - I was pretty confused on that one - we are both mixed color cats how did we get black and white one? Mrs had much trouble with this one as she/he is the much bigger in size than the others.

And very last is much like the first one - but maybe little bit more grey. Human was very mad at Mrs. because she didn't clean off the last one until she took all 3 others way from her.

I was allowed to see them after all four were born and both of our humans let everyone to see them.

I wanted to inspect closer but Mrs would hiss at me so I backed up and let her have her space. I suppose I will have more time with them later. Can't wait to teach them how to catch a mice!

Uncles and aunts have been absolutely no help in caring for these little ones. All they do is hiss and back up as one little kitten was going to attack them? So they don't get to come to see them but once a day and then they seem to take a quick look and leave being annoyed.

But as their dad I have never hissed at them and they visit me daily by sitting on my back. I do get concerned when Mrs. leaves the room and goes about her walk abouts and they start crying. But our human attends to them and gets them to quiet down.

Well, it is almost time for their feeding again which I try to help with by being close to them. So I will report back about how they are growing up soon.

In meanwhile enjoy first pictures taken on Saturday - our human has been so tired that she hasn't even taken good pictures of our kittens. We are not happy with her about that, but I suppose feeding them is more important. But they are so gorgeous - how people are going to see that if she doesn't get good pictures of them.

Although, Mrs. was very angry when she started to take the pictures and removed each one as she tried to get good picture of them. So I suppose she didn't help in the matter at all.

And she does have this habit of moving them from one place to another - she likes to carry them, but then she leaves them alone. Mrs said something that "all they are doing is sleeping anyways so why should I stay with them all of time? I need my time too!" Human keeps lecturing Mrs about this, but thus far, she takes off and leaves me to take care of them....


I know we had much time to discuss names but we still don't have names for three of them. We finally agreed that black and white will be Sylvester.

****April 13, 2009 update: ****

I know our gorgeous babies are now more than month old and our human STILL haven't updated this little story of our lives..... she says 'soon, she is busy with work right now' like I know what that means...something about if she doesn't work then we have to go back outside hunting for our own food. I am not going in there again - there is a snow storm out there on April 13! So we are happy with her feeding the babies and taking care of them so that Mrs can get some sleep. I try to babysit them now too since she is allowing me to now. My life has sure changed from just last year! I was living life of wild cat outside ruling the neighborhood and now here I am middle of my kittens. But it sure nice to sleep in a bed next to the human and other side of her Mrs with the kittens in their sleeping basket. Although, when they get too hot in there - they start hanging out over the edge. Our human has a cold or something because she sounds like bear on her winter nap and our kittens weren't so sure what the noise was and started to bite her nose to make her quiet. Didn't help much I am sorry to say. Although, she says that I snore as loud as her - me? I absolutely, couldn't! It has to be the Mrs.

We do have given them names:

First born, is the littlest one of them all, and her name is Mari. She still needs help with eating. But she is starting to grow now and is coming into her own beautiful self. Everyone is extra nice to her and watches out for her - she sure is getting spoiled with much extra attention.

Kea is the real blond, named after human's best friend in Finland who was a true natural blond. She has such long hair that it is so hard to keep her clean especially she seems to take bath in food each time she eats. Everyone helps to get her cleaned up after eating. She is growing up so fast, but she is bit of clown cat like her aunt Sopo. Such easy going gorgeous girl.

Sylvester is our only boy! With his mustasche it is good thing that he is a boy, we think he would be teased too much as a girl about it. Although, he was so much bigger when born he has needed a lot of help in eating and is just in last few days learned to eat on his own. And is now starting to fight back when his big sisters are beating him up.

And lastly, the little one who had such hard time at birthing time is turning into a terror of them all! She is the one with most independence and mind of adventure who keeps us all running after her. She wakes everyone up once she is wake and attacks her sisters and brothers. She climbs everywhere she can. Jumps off the bed. Uses the litterbox already. And loves the camera! Who can not love her with those blue eyes! And she has so many expressions that she tends to hug the camera time. She is the brave protector of her sister and brother. She hisses at the dog and doesn't let him come too close.

They sleep all together in one big pile and most often hugging each other. They go in and out from their sleeping basket sleeping on human to their mom when she is not cooling off at the window and then back to their basket.

At times at play time they will all play together and all you see is whole bunch of paws up in the air. We let them play and only get involved when someone miauws loudly. Mrs usually then goes in there and breaks it up by either giving them a look, but couple of times she has had to step in there before they listen.

Both humans have bought them different toys but thus far they haven't much shown interest in toys but prefer find their own. They do enjoy their sleeping basket's fish that hangs in there. When all are sleeping but one is wake that poor fish is usually then being attacked.
