Candi came to live with us forever on Jan 22,2009.
She is a registered walker. She is about 2 1/2 as she arrived. She was excited to come back; although, she thought she would find her sister Lily here who she had shared summer with on our pasture. Lily found another home already. It is first time she is on her own. She came from 12 horse herd, so she is adjusting.
She has adjusted well to live with the goats and deer for now. We are doing daily walks and bonding. She is very smart and she is learning quickly.
Later in spring I will get a 7-8 year old TB as a friend for her. I have started to look at rescue website for TB's - so many horses needing homes. Let's hope I will stop at 2. I feel so bad for all these horses not having a place to live anymore because owners don't have money to keep them.
Anyone who can adopt a horse or help to rescue barns please check www.secondchanceranch.org
Goats think of her as part of the herd. And I think that Bob seems to be the lead horse! On our daily walks Bob often walks first and Candi will touch his back as reassurance that everything is okay.
She plays with the goats and even the deer - always watching out for them. The deer didn't know what to think when she ran right to them. They stayed and just watched her. It was amazing mixture of animals all together.
