I was recently asked by a Fuji Talk forum reader/poster to devise a gallery that had images exclusively from the Fuji FinePix 2800Z, and here are the results. It is a fact that since the salesman put the camera in my hand, I have been amazed what this modest (considering the total spectrum of cameras on the present market) piece of fine machinery is capable of when used properly. All of the images posted were shot with the camera set on 2mp normal (not fine) and are basically, except for some edging and a bit of color tweaking, right out of the camera's lens and CCD. Unfortunately, when posting
to pbase it is necessary to resize the image, so high-magnification clarity cannot be seen.
But trust me, the output is clear as a bell and very accurate in its color portrayal. I still shoot with 3 different cameras, one digital and two film (slide) because having the Nikon LS-2000 gives me fine digital results also. As always, your comments are invited and appreciated. Enjoy the display. Respectfully, Elliott Marshall, A.S., RPR
I pulled up your gallery from a consumer website that I was checking out on digital cameras. I like the look of the Fuji. The reviews seem to be quite mixed as far as limitations on low light usage, battery consumption and video out connections (?)
But, as your photos prove, the camera does the job. My usage is going to be mostly doing publicity for my guest house in Edinburgh, Scotland so lighting is natural/incandescent.
I shot for a few years with Olympus/Minolta/Nikon film cameras, always searching for an old Polaroid to do preview shots. The digital has to be the best middle ground and the Fuji price attracts me as an entry level that replicates a film slr with preview facilities. Now for the preening. Some really beautiful shots of architectural objects in your gallery, my current interest is in the stonework decoration that seems to be an obession of masons at the turn of the century here. One building, the Corn Exchange, has a frieze running around the length of the building that depicts the history of Leith, the port city close to the outstanding buildings of Edinburgh. Anyway, the mundane work that I need the camera for is bedrooms and my own building, interior shots and daylight exterior. I think that the price here is approaching $900. Any input that you can give me would be appreciated.
Best regards, Jamie Kirk

I just bought the Fuji FinePix 2800 and was cruising the web, and found your "galleries" page. Very nice, you can tell you've got some experience in composing/croping your shots. A couple of questions for ya. When using the Fuji, do you typically shoot in AF and use flash and a tripod, or are they handheld? Or are you overiding the cameras' AF mode? Any other tips/suggestions from you on using the Fuji 2800 would be greatly appreciated.
Have a good day
Robin
