Black and White Ansco film – 1940’s severe mechanical issues.

Silas Fung B&W Ansco
Note the white powdery substance on the film.
When a frame is paused on the Steen beck, the white power turns into a glaze and sometimes lumps into what appears to be drops on the film. I believe when it cools down (not that was much heating) it turns back into a powder.
Bits of film on the floor are what is left of one of the B&W Silas fung reels when I took the reel out of the box.
Africa Ektachrome 1960 – requiring colour correction.
This was a gorgeous Ektachrome film from Tanzania in 1959/60. However the film had suffered fading to red whether due to original processing or subsequent storage is unknown. Through trial and erro, some rather severe colour / gamma corrections were applied to the fames. Please not that the same set of corrections were applied to every frame and there were no individual touch-ups.
The quality level of these jpeg files was set to 85% as we are more concerned with displaying the colour corrections.
