A good source for textures to simulate rice paper,muslin, etc. are the free wallpaper samples from local home improvement store.

They can either be made into a texture to use in the Texturizer filter, or applied as a new layer.

I prefer to load the entire image as a new layer in overlay or soft light blending mode,
then play with opacity,contrast, and transform scale. I can also add color to the texture layer.
