«LOOSE PAGES» a photographic exhibition in Lisbon

After the first contacts I was invited to produce a photographic exhibition at the Portuguese National Library.
The phrase: «Life is a book and those who don't travel only read one page» from St. Agostinho seems to me an excellent depart to work and develop the «Loose Pages» exhibition.
I selected 2 photos of 25 different travel destinations made from 1993 to 2009. Each photo represents a special moment, a memory with a little explaining text. All the photos were presented in a large format 60x90 cm made by-myself in my Epson 7900 printer.
Here, I begin to post the photos from the last one to the first one, a destination each day. That way, when the gallery is concluded you have the chronological sequence as they were presented in Lisbon.

Turkey, Istanbul, September 2009

The right time and place to take a break at the end of the day is near the entrance of the Galata Bridge. Just to have a friendly chat, to have a refreshing drink or simply to take a break and watch the bustle, the riverside restaurants and the boats moving across the two shores. On the background is the impressive Yeni Camii mosque.

Turkey, Goreme, September 2009

Goreme in Cappadocia is home to the world’s second largest daily gathering of hot air balloons. Every day, at sunrise, more than 60 balloons seem to sprout from the bizarre rock formations carved by natural erosion. Hundreds of tourists wonder at the experience that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.
