Actually, 'pau' means wood, in Portuguese.

Just a small but suitable correction, Felix. It's "Pão de Açúcar", not "Pau de Açúcar". Pau de açúcar means literally "sugar dick" (!) in Portuguese, I kid you not! ;-)
