Frescos on LSU Campus

These frescoes were painted by the first Art class at LSU in the late 1930's. For some unknown reason the large outside fresco was painted over in the 1950's. In 2001 it was restored by Elise Grenier, an artist who had spent the past 18 years restoring frescoes in Europe. The original Artist, Sue Brown Dietrich, my mother, was present as the work was unveiled. It was the first time she had seen her work in 50 years.
