Turnerwood is almost in Nottinghamshire, in fact the next village, Shireoaks less than a mile away is in Nottinghamshire. The Chesterfield canal was once used to carry Limestone from the quarry just outside my village (Anston) to London for the construction of the Houses of parliament.
