In ancient Persian language, Cappadocia means "land of beautiful horses". We didn't see too many horses on this trip, but the landscape of spectacularly hardened volcanic ash is certainly majestic. It is an area know for its fertile land of apricots, cherries, wild grapes and chickpeas, and handicrafts of carpet weaving, onyx carving and decorative pottery.
