We were fortunate to have multiple sightings of elephants. Though none of them were as large as I remembered in my previous visit. Their tusks were on the small side. We were told that the elephant population in Krugar National Park and surrounding private game reserves have bounced back to a healthy 30,000 troops.
An elephant on average can eat 250kgs of food and drink 180~400 litres of water every two days. They tend to hang out in herd. The biggest threats to elephants are not lions, but humans.
