The famous Argentine glacier is in the lower right. From our plane, the colors of the lake stand out. The Moreno Glacier forms a dam that creates two sections of the lake. One section of the lake rises, the other drains. When enough water pressure builds up, the glacial dam collapses in spectacular fashion. This photo was taken in Feb 2006, less than one month before one of these collapses.
