We only spent a few hours in Dresden while on our way out of Germany. We were impressed by the fine Baroque achitechture, many of them were underconstruction, still recovering from the distruction during WWII. American and British pilots firebombed the city on the night of February 13, 1945. More than 25K people were killed and 75% of the historical center were destroyed. The city wound up in the Soviet sector. Today, with billions of dollars of donated mostly by British corporations, the city is being rebuilt.
