2016 has been a memorable year for me. It was a year filled with earth, wind, ice, fire and remarkable wildlife. Business, family and adventure trips took me to over a dozen countries on six continents. I made first time visits to Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, Iceland, Sweden and Malaysia. I went to extreme latitudes, close to 65° north in Iceland and just beyond 65° south in Antarctica. I went to populous cities and to some of the most remote places on the planet. This calendar is solely focused on the southern islands and Antarctic expedition. South is the title of Ernest Shackleton’s book, detailing his remarkable polar expedition a century ago. His expedition failed, but the amazing story of the rescue of the crew still resonates today. In places, we saw and retraced his footsteps, figuratively in some places, almost literally in others. This calendar is a snippet of many memories we created. I encourage you to explore and see the world with your own eyes.
